Juxtaposition
I had the opportunity to visit Cormorant Island in the Queen Charlotte Strait in British Columbia. There is a large Native Reserve there with a burial ground of the Kwakwaka’wakw where these wonderful totems stand. The island was named for the paddle sloop HMS Cormorant in 1846.
