Ice flower. - a moment of time
These wonderful geometric and yet apparently random shapes astound in the winter. These days, with modern heating and insulated windows, they are, in most homes, a thing of the past which no one will ever see. A great loss I feel. Facebook and others have hijacked the time of our young, which used to be spent pondering these and other wonders of the world around us. These are on the one hand strong and powerful shapes and at the same time gossamer and delicate, only here for a fleeting moment of time, to disappear for ever once the sun rises. This was taken in January of 2015 at the time when the offices of Charlie Hebdo, a French satirical magazine, in Paris, France were attacked by terrorists killing 12 of their staff. I posted this on my web site at the time with the caption Je suis Charlie (I am Charlie) in support of free speech.
